Oxford OPP Catch 51 Speeders & 2 Distracted Drivers

(OXFORD COUNTY, ON.) – The Oxford County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was out on area roadways enforcing a provincial led traffic initiative which ran from June 26, 2015 to July 1, 2015.

There were several charges laid throughout the County including the following violations:

51 Speeding – Highway Traffic Act (HTA)

5 Seatbelt (HTA)

2 Distracted Driving (HTA)

4 Hazardous Moving offences (HTA)

13 Other HTA offences

3 Liquor Licence Act (LLA)

2 Compulsory Automobile Insurance Act (CAIA)

1 Impaired Driving – Criminal Code of Canada (CCC)

3 Other CCC Driving offences

3 Drug related offences

OPP responded to 16 motor vehicle collisions, with no serious injuries reported.

The OPP would like to thank the motoring public for their continued assistance with calling in to report on going traffic complaints. Several of those complaints resulted in police being able to stop the offending drivers and issue appropriate warnings or charges.
