Owen Sound Police Welcomes Their Newest Constable

Constable Derrick Edmiston swore his oath of duty this morning as Owen Sound Police Services’ newest Constable.

Constable Edmiston graduated last week after successfully completing his Basic Constable Recruit Training at the Ontario Police College. Constable Edmiston was selected from an impressive list of qualified candidates, following an intense and competitive selection process, concluded earlier this summer.

Constable Edmiston will continue his field training and professional development with a Coach Officer.

Derrick has been a resident of the Owen Sound area for the past eight years where he continues to reside along with his wife. Prior to being hired by the Owen Sound Police Service, Constable Edmiston was employed as a Rescue Specialist with the Canadian Coast Guard.
