Owen Sound Police Investigated 3 Collision Yesterday Morning

On Friday December 2, 2016 at approximately 08:10am a 50 year old Bognor man was sitting in a 2017 Ram Pickup stopped in a private parking lot in the area of 8 th Street East and 3 rd Avenue East. A 55 year old Holland centre female driving a 2015 Honda pulled into the same parking lot and ran into the Ram Pickup. The driver of the Honda attempted to stop but slid on the wet pavement. There were no injuries or charges as a result of this accident.

At approximately 08:47am Police were called to attend the area of 10 th Street West and 7 th Avenue West in regards to a motor vehicle collision involving 2 vehicles. The investigation revealed that a 28 year old Owen Sound male operating a 2015 Dodge Durango and travelling in an east bound direction attempted to make a left turn at 7 th Avenue West. At the same time a 2000 Ford being driven by a 35 year old male from Guelph Ontario was travelling west bound on 10 th Street West.

The 28 year old Owen Sound male drove across the path of the 35 year old Guelph resident. There were no injuries as a result of the collision but both vehicles were towed from the scene with extensive damage. The collision interrupted traffic for approximately 1 hour and 15 minutes. The 28 year old Owen Sound male was charged under the Highway Traffic Acted with making an unsafe turn.

At approximately 12:51pm Owen Sound Police were called to attend yet another motor vehicle collision in the area of 8 th Avenue East and 16 th Street East. The investigation revealed that a 56 year old Wiarton male who was operating a 2010 Jeep was stopped on 16 th Street East waiting to make a left turn. A 54 year old Owen Sound female who was operating a 2010 Nissan and was travelling west bound, drove into the rear of the Jeep. There were no injuries as a result of the collision however the Nissan sustained significant damage and was towed from the scene. The 54 year old Owen Sound resident was charged with Careless Driving under the Highway Act.
