(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in solving a recent robbery that occurred at an ATM.
On February 14, 2014, at approximately 5:45 pm, an elderly male, age 74, attended an ATM vestibule situated along the 100 block of Rideau Street. He was having some difficulty using the ATM and sought assistance from a lone male that followed the victim in. The suspect assisted the victim complete a withdrawal of cash but when the cash was dispensed, the suspect grabbed the cash and fled. When the victim tried to stop the suspect, the victim was pushed to the ground by the suspect. The suspect was last seen running on Nicholas Street.
The suspect is described as being a Caucasian male, tall, approximately 23-28 years. He was wearing a dark coloured jacket with a logo on the front, and a Yukon style winter hat. (see attached images)
