(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit is seeking the public’s assistance in solving the robbery of a convenience store and a possibly related theft/shoplifting from an LCBO store.
On November 20, 2013, at approximately 3:35 pm., two suspects entered an LCBO store situated along the 2100 block of Carling Ave. The suspects left the premises with a bottle of Vodka without paying. The suspects were described as being black males, approximately 18 years of age, both carrying backpacks.
On December 1, 2013, at approximately 9:20 pm., a group of five suspects entered a convenience store situated along the 1600 block of Cyrville Rd. The suspects all took measures to disguise their faces. One of the suspects approached a store employee from behind and placed her in a choke hold. The remaining suspects then proceeded behind the counter to steal a quantity of cigarettes. The suspects are believed to have fled to a vehicle that was parked in a nearby housing complex. There were no injuries in this robbery.
Images of one suspect from both occurrences are being released this date in an attempt to identify the suspect. The linkage between the two matters is being investigated.
This suspect is described as being a Black male, 5’-9†(175cm), medium build, approximately 18 years of age, dark hair, wearing pea coat with several horizontal fasteners.
