(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section is seeking the public’s help to identify a man wanted for a sexual assault in late March 2013 at 2600 Draper Avenue. Video footage and pictures of the suspect are available.
The Ottawa Police investigation into this matter commenced in November when officers were informed of the incident at that location, and the existence of that video footage.
In late March, a woman in her 20’s entered the apartment building of 2600 Draper Avenue at approximately 5:00am and she was followed into the elevator by an unknown man. The man exposed himself and sexually assaulted her in the elevator. When the elevator doors opened, the female victim managed to break free and ran towards an apartment. The man attempted to enter that apartment but subsequently fled the scene.
The male suspect is described as being of Middle Eastern descent, in his 20’s, slim build, curly short black hair, dark eyes, with a beard. He was wearing dark jogging pants, dark sweater and baseball hat and he smelled of alcohol.
Sexual Assault and Child Abuse Section investigators believe that this person may have a connection to that geographical area or that building.
