(Ottawa) The Ottawa Police Service Robbery Unit has laid a number of charges in relation to a series of retail robberies at the same location.
On July 24, 2014 at 10:50 pm a lone suspect entered a gs station kiosk situated along the 600 block of Somerset Avenue West. The suspect approached the clerk, armed with a knife, and made a demand for cash. The suspect fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash.
On July 27, 2014 at 6:32 pm the same suspect attended the same location. The suspect approached the clerk, again armed with a knife, and demanded cash and cigarettes. The suspect fled with an undisclosed quantity of both.
On July 30, 2014 at 7:24 pm the same suspect attended the same location. The suspect approached the clerk, again armed with a knife, and demanded cash. The suspect fled with an undisclosed quantity of cash.
There were no injuries in any of the robberies.
On August 1, 2014, the suspect returned to the same location, was recognized, and was arrested by Police at the scene.
Adam MEATHRELL, age 25 of Ottawa, has been charged with three counts each of robbery and possession of a weapon. He appeared in court August 3 and remains in custody.
