OSMAN – Drunk Driving

(TOWNSHIP OF GUELPH/ERAMOSA, ON) – On April 2nd, 2017 members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were conducting a Reduce Impaired Driving Everywhere (R.I.D.E.) check on Highway 7 west of Guelph.

At approximately 12:30 a.m. a red Toyota Echo entered the R.I.D.E. check. While speaking with the driver, officers detected the odour of alcohol on his breath. The driver was arrested after failing the Roadside Screening Device test, and was transported to a local OPP Operation Centre for further testing.

27-year-old Liban OSMAN of Kitchener has been charged with Driving with Over 80 mgs of alcohol in 100mL of blood, contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada. He is to appear in Guelph Criminal Court on May 5th, 2017 to answer to the charge.
