OPP To Participate In Mock Scenario

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On Wednesday, June 17, 2015 the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) will participate in a mock rescue scenario hosted by the Kawartha Lakes Fire and Rescue, station 22.

Officers from the OPP will work with fire and rescue personnel from both station 22, out of Fenelon Falls and station 12, out of Cameron along with Kawartha Lakes Paramedic Services as they participate in a mock scenario to be held at Garnet Graham Beach in Fenelon Falls. The park will be closed at 5:00pm but spectators are welcome to view the scenario which will start at 7:30pm as long as they are respectful of the situation.

“The scenario is designed to test the abilities of all involved. The police, fire and paramedic crews will need to put forth a co-ordinated effort to ensure all are successful”, states Sgt. Creaser.

“Participating in events such as the mock scenario allows us to address any issues or concerns that arise, situations that are bound to happen when you are working with numerous partners. It also allows us to work on some individual skills in a realistic setting”, states Rob Jardine, Volunteer Firefighter – Advanced 2287.
