(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is seeking the assistance of the public after police were called to a Talbot Street, Courtland, Norfolk County, Ontario address.
On Friday, September 19, 2014 at approximately 10:05 a.m., police were contacted by a concerned homeowner after a suspicious male was located in the rear yard of the property earlier in the morning.
Through investigation, it has been determined that an unknown male attended the address at approximately 8:35 a.m., and proceeded to open a dog kennel which was located in the back yard of the property. The home owner was alerted after their dog began to bark. The owner came outside to investigate and observed a male fleeing to a vehicle that was parked on the roadway carrying their dog.
The dog is being described as a black coloured, 3 year old male, Cocker Spaniel, blind in one eye and has an entire tail. At the time of the theft the dog was wearing a blue harness and a white collar.
The suspect is being described as a white male, approximately 20 years of age, 5’10, slender build, wearing a dark shirt and jeans.
The vehicle is described a blue coloured motor vehicle.
Police are continuing to investigate and is seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation. If anyone has any information they are being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP Detachment at 1-888-310-1122.
