(GOULAIS TOWNSHIP, ON) – On July 30, 2016 at approximately 3:30 p.m. Sault Ste. Marie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Emergency Medical Services (EMS) and Goulais Fire and Rescue responded to a male in distress in the water on the Goulais River near the 1700 block of Pineshores Road.
The victim was transported to hospital where he was pronounced deceased.
The male has been identified as Mark Scornaienchi, 61 years of age, from Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario.
No foul play is suspected.
A post mortem is scheduled for Tuesday, August 2, 2016 in Sault Ste. Marie.
