(WEST PARRY SOUND, ON) – An unlocked door or an open window is an invitation to thieves. The members of the West Parry Sound Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are reminding Parry Sound residents to roll up their vehicles’ windows, keep valuables out of sight, lock their doors and pocket their keys even when their vehicles are sitting in their driveway.
On January 19, 2014 between the hours of 10 p.m. and 3 a.m. the OPP responded to 6 different residences in the Town of Parry Sound; Woods Street, Waubeek Street and Belvedere Avenue. Each victim reported a similar story; their unlocked vehicle was entered and rummaged through. Loose change was stolen from several of the vehicles as well as electronic devices. The vehicles on the street that were locked were not broken into.
Any person with information regarding the person(s) responsible for these break and enters should immediately contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122 or 705-746-4225.
Should you wish to remain anonymous, you may call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477 (TIPS), where you may be eligible to receive a cash reward of up to $2,000.
