(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – Officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) remain on scene of a residential fire on Mark Road.
On March 10, 2014 at approximately 7:50 a.m. an OPP officer was on patrol when smoke was observed, causing the officer concerns regarding the origins of the smoke. The officer discovered that a single residential home was on fire.
The Fire Marshal attended the scene yesterday and during the investigation human remains were discovered. An autopsy will be performed on Thursday, March 13, 2014.
The investigation continues.
