(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On November 7, 2013 at approximately 7:11 a.m. officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a house fire on Alvar Road, in the former Carden Township.
An explosion in the residence resulted in the fire that required three family members to be transported to a local hospital. The Ontario Fire Marshall’s office continues to investigate the cause of the explosion.
A 22 year old female remains in fair to serious condition but is considered stable at a Toronto area hospital and a 47 year old male remains in unstable condition with life threatening injuries in a Toronto area hospital. A 46 year old female remains in stable condition at a local hospital.
