OPP OFFICERS EXTRICATED FROM CRUISER ROLLOVER

(ENNISKILLEN, ON) A Lambton Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Constable and a Lambton OPP Auxiliary officer have been treated and released from hospital following a rollover collision with their cruiser on September 28, 2013 just before 9:00 p.m.

The officers were responding to an impaired driver call in Oil City. As they traveled west bound on Courtright line, near Gypsy Flats road, the officers came upon a separate traffic situation that required an evasive maneuver by the driver of the OPP cruiser. The OPP cruiser subsequently entered a south side ditch and then rolled over.

Additional OPP officers and Oil Springs Fire attended the collision to remove the trapped officers from the cruiser.

Lambton Emergency Medical Service (EMS) transported both officers to Blue Water Health -CEE hospital where the officers were treated and released.

The immediate area roads were shut down until around 2:00 a.m. while that part of the investigation was conducted.

The collision investigation is continuing and further information will be released when it becomes available.
