(BRANT COUNTY, ON) – A member of the Brant County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has been issued a provincial offences notice following a collision that occurred at around 8:30 a.m., on June 26, 2014.
Investigation determined that the Dodge police vehicle was travelling west on Dundas Street East with its emergency equipment activated. The police vehicle was attempting to turn south onto Paris Road when it collided with the Honda that was travelling east on Dundas Street.
Both drivers were transported to area hospitals where they were treated for minor injuries and released.
As a result of the investigation, Inspector Dave Durant, a 29-year member of the OPP has been issued a summons for the Highway Traffic Act offence of: Left turn- fail to afford reasonable opportunity to avoid collision. He will appear in a Provincial Offences Court in the City of Brantford on September 16, 2014.
