OPP Officer Injured In Collision On Highway 401

(TOWSNHIP OF SOUTH FRONTENAC) On December 2, 2014 at approximately 10:17p.m., Frontenac OPP responded to a single vehicle collision on Highway 401 westbound at John F Scott Road in the city of Kingston. A truck was facing backwards against the center concrete median.

Frontenac OPP officer responding to the vehicle collision, stopped his cruiser behind the accident scene with emergency lights activated. Another vehicle travelling westbound on the 401 lost control and struck the police cruiser and officer who was out of his vehicle.

The male OPP officer with 13 years’ experience was transported to hospital by ambulance and later released with non-life threatening injuries. The driver of the other vehicle was also transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

Members of the Kingston police and Fire Department arrived on scene to assist. The investigation is continuing.
