OPP NAPS JOINT INVESTIGATION SEIZES $120,730.00 IN DRUGS

(Constance Lake, ON) On March 18, 2014, a lengthy joint investigation involving the Nishnawbe-Aski Police Service (NAPS) Drug Enforcement Unit, the NAPS Intelligence Unit, the NAPS Constance Lake Detachment, the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Drug Enforcement Unit South Porcupine and OPP Uniform Members has resulted in three people being charged under the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act.

The investigation led police to conduct a search in which they seized quantities of Methamphetamine pills, Marihuana, and Oxycodone pills with a total estimated street value of one-hundred twenty thousand seven-hundred thirty ($120,730.00) dollars.

Forty (40) year-old Sydney EMOND and fifty-four (54) year-old Patrick THERIAULT of Hearst, Ontario, and thirty-one (31) year-old Elsa MOORE of Constance Lake First Nation were each charged with Trafficking a Controlled Substance, Possession of a Controlled Substance for the Purpose of Trafficking, and Possession of a Controlled Substance.

EMOND, THERIAULT, and MOORE were all held for a bail hearing on March 19, 2014 in Hearst, Ontario.

Constance Lake First Nation is located approximately 290 km west of Timmins, Ontario.
