(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Norfolk County Detachment is investigating the theft of fuel from a Forestry Farm Road, North Walsingham, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.
On Friday, April 18, 2014 in the early morning hours, unknowns attended the address and proceeded to drive a motor vehicle to the rear of the property where they located fuel tanks stored behind a barn. Unknowns then removed approximately 1,200 litres of fuel from the storage tanks and then left the area.
The theft is valued at approximately $ 2,000 dollars.
Businesses and farms with large fuel storage should make sure pumps and the access to the storage tanks are secured with heavy duty locks. If the location is isolated and unsupervised for long periods of time, consider installing lights and security cameras.
