OPP INVESTIGATING SUSPICIOUS FIRE

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment, Norfolk County Fire Department and Norfolk Paramedics were called to an Evergreen Hill Road, Simcoe, Norfolk County, Ontario address.

On Friday, October 25, 2013 at approximately 11:01 a.m., the Norfolk County OPP responded to a fire at Holy Trinity High School.

Members of the Norfolk County Fire Department arrived on scene and located a fire in the girls washroom on the main floor. The fire was subsequently extinguished by attending fire fighters with damage being reported to a washroom stall.

Through investigation, it has been determined that unknowns set a toilet paper dispenser on fire causing heavy smoke to filter to the second floor of the school. All students were evacuated from the school with no injuries being reported.

The total amount of damage is estimated at approximately $50,000 dollars.

The OPP are seeking the public’s assistance with this investigation and anyone with information is being asked to contact the Norfolk County OPP at 1-888-310-1122.
