(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) – On March 6, 2014 officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call at the pharmacy in Woodville after a lone male had entered the store and demanded narcotics.
Initial investigation revealed that a weapon was observed but not used and no one was injured. The suspect was given a quantity of the drug demanded and then left the scene on a snowmobile.
The OPP’s Forensic Identification Unit attended the scene to assist with the investigation.
Due to the proximity of the incident to the local school, the school did enter into a hold and secure.
The investigation is continuing.
