OPP INVESTIGATING PEDESTRIAN COLLISION

(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is investigating a serious motor vehicle collision at a Highway 3, Charlotteville, Norfolk County, Ontario, address.

On Tuesday, April 8, 2014 at approximately 3:36 a.m., Norfolk County OPP and Norfolk County Paramedics were dispatched to a Highway 3 address for a motor vehicle collision involving a pedestrian.

Through investigation it has been determined that 45 year old female of Norfolk County, Ontario was struck by an unknown motor vehicle travelling westbound on Highway 3 and suffered serious life threatening injuries. She was transported to a local area hospital for treatment and then air lifted to a Hamilton area hospital for further assessment.

As a result of investigation, police located a vehicle and driver of interest and the investigation is continuing.

Technical Traffic Collision Investigators are assisting with the investigation.

Highway 3 between Nixon Road and Windham East Quarter Line Road was closed for approximately 7 hours to allow for police investigation.
