(HALIBURTON, ON) – Officers from the Haliburton Highlands Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) are currently investigating a series of incidents on Sugar Island on Gull Lake in the Township of Minden Hills, Ontario. Preliminary OPP investigation has revealed that seven seasonal residences were broken into. There was an extensive amount of damage caused through vandalism as well as numerous items stolen. In addition to these, there was also a suspicious structure fire. The Office of the Ontario Fire Marshall was contacted and will be conducting an investigation.
