(Douro-Dummer Township, ON) – Members of the Peterborough County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to assist with a one month old child in distress on Peterborough County Road 4 just after 8:00am this morning.
The infant was transported, vital signs absent by ambulance to Peterborough Regional Health Centre where she died. This incident is currently under investigation by the Peterborough County OPP Detachment Crime Unit and the Forensic Identification Unit under the direction of Detective Inspector Gilles Depratto of the Criminal investigation Branch (CIB).
A post mortem examination will be conducted tomorrow at the Office of the Chief Coroner and Forensic Pathology Service in Toronto.
