OPP INVESTIGATE FATAL SNOWMOBILE COLLISION

(CITY OF KAWARTHA LAKES, ON.) -The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) continues to investigate a fatal snowmobile collision that resulted in the death of a 17 year old Bobcaygeon youth.

On Saturday, January 4, 2014 at approximately 2:15 p.m. officers from the City of Kawartha Lakes detachment of the OPP responded to an incident on the Little Bob channel near the bridge located on Kawartha Lakes Road 36.

Initial investigation indicated that Jonathan TULLY was operating his snowmobile when he struck a frozen snow embankment causing the snow machine to go airborne and launching the operator into the bridge. Mr. TULLY was transported via ambulance to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injuries.

The OPP’s Technical Collision Investigation (TCI) unit attended the scene to assist with the investigation. No charges are expected to be laid in this incident.
