Also on Saturday, at approximately 1:50 pm, officers responded to a snowmobile collision that occurred on the Hydro Line approximately 4 km west of West Loon Road in the Municipality of Shuniah.
A 33 year old male from Thunder Bay was snowmobiling along the Hydro Line when he lost control of his snowmobile as it dropped down a 10 foot ravine.
Shuniah Fire and Rescue attended the scene with a snowmobile and transported the male to an awaiting air ambulance situated on the Hydro Line. The male was transported to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
On Sunday, at approximately 1:30 pm, officers responded to a two vehicle collision at the Highway 61 and Chippewa Road intersection.
The driver of a Ford truck stopped at a stop sign at the Chippewa Road and Highway 61 intersection, then proceeded through the intersection and collided with a north bound Honda Accord.
There were no injuries reported. Both vehicles sustained extensive damage.
Gaston TREMBLAY, 71 years of age, from Thunder Bay was charged with Fail to Yield to Traffic on a Through Highway contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
