OPP INVESTIGATE COLLISION INVOLVING TWO MOTORCYCLISTS

(Oro-Medonte, ON) – On July 26, 2013, at 11:10 pm, Officers from the Barrie Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were called to Line 1 South, Oro Medonte Twp for a two vehicle motor vehicle collision into the ditch. Police had the road closed for several hours while they conducted the investigation with Technical Traffic Investigators attending to determine the cause of the collision.

The two motorcyclists appear to have been racing when they lost control on a sharp corner.
A 40 year old male driver was transported to Royal Victoria Regional Health Centre in critical condition and was later airlifted to a Toronto Hospital, he is expected to recover. The second driver a 28 year old Barrie man did not require medical attention.

The pair of Barrie men face numerous Highway traffic act charges including Fail to remain, Careless Driving and Failing to wear a proper helmet.
