(Lanark County, ON) – Officers from the Lanark County Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) have charged a man and woman in regard to local residential Break and Enters, after a vehicle was stopped in the Town of Perth on the evening of Saturday 22nd March 2014.
Officers were already investigating a break and enter to a home in Tay Valley Township when shortly after 7pm officers stopped a Chrysler Intrepid for failing to stop at a stop light.
Subsequent investigation revealed that the female driver and male passenger had committed the previously reported break and enter and another break and enter to a home in Drummond, North Elmsley Township.
Devan MEADOWS (24 years) of Kingston and Dennis OIKAWA (39 years) of Ottawa have each been charged with one count of Break and Enter to a Dwelling and one count of Possession of Property Obtained by Crime, and OIKAWA was also charged with a second count of Break and Enter to a Dwelling. All charges are contrary to the Criminal Code of Canada.
MEADOWS was released on conditions to appear at a later date at Provincial Court in Perth. OIKAWA was remained to a later date for a Bail Hearing.
