(MACHAR TWP, ON) On Tuesday August 12, 2014, Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) along with members from the North East Region Drug Enforcement Unit and Emergency Response Team (ERT) received information regarding a marihuana grow operation on Simpson Hill Road, Machar Township.
Police arrested two men, Ryan FRASER 37, and Theodore DUBEAU 38, both of Orillia Ontario and charged them with the following criminal offences,
Produce a controlled substance, marihuana
Possession of a controlled substance, marihuana over 30 grams
Possession of a controlled substance, cannabis resin over 1 gram
Two counts of Possession of property obtained by a crime under $5000
Theft under $500
The approximate street value of the drugs seized is $375,000. A number of items were also seized in offence related property, with an approximate value of $50,000.
The accused will appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Parry Sound for a bail hearing on Wednesday August 13, 2014.
