(QUINTE WEST, ON) – Quinte West OPP launched Operation Crossroads today throughout the city with the goal of reducing collisions.
Operation Crossroads will focus on education and enforcement at intersections. To date in 2013, the Quinte West OPP has investigated 623 collision or 60 collisions per month. The vast majority of these collisions occur on the city’s main streets during daylight hours on weekdays and 66% of the collisions are directly related to intersections.
Officers will be watching out for lane light violations, distracted driving as well as aggressive driving.
The initiative runs from December 2nd until December 6th 2013.
