(ONEIDA NATION OF THE THAMES FIRST NATION, ON) – On December 21, 2014 at approximately 3:00 p.m. Oneida First Nation Police and Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) responded to a call for assistance at a River Road residence on Oneida First Nation of the Thames.
Police discovered a deceased male within the residence and are continuing their investigation. A post mortem examination will be conducted to determine the cause of death.
The Middlesex County OPP Crime Unit is conducting the investigation under the direction of Detective Inspector Heidi Stewart of the OPP Criminal Investigation Branch.
A portion of River Road between Townline Road and Walker Road will remain closed for the investigation.
As always, the OPP reminds all citizens of the importance to ensure their own public safety. The OPP recommends safe practices by locking homes and vehicles at all times. Police encourage citizens to report any suspicious persons or vehicle activity in the area immediately.
