(TOWNSHIP OF PERTH SOUTH, ON) On Wednesday April 13, 2011, around 3:30 p.m. two Perth County OPP officers who where investigating and incident, had their cruisers parked on private property North of Line 14, a gravel road just North of St.Marys.
Shortly thereafter the officers heard a West bound vehicle on Line 14 approach at a high rate of speed. The approaching vehicle could not be seen due to a knoll in the roadway. As the vehicle became visible the officers observed that it was a pickup truck whose driver had lost control of the vehicle. The truck was swerving and spun out of control entering the south ditch backwards where it came to rest on its passenger side.
The lone 18 year old male occupant was transported to St.Marys Memorial Hospital where he was treated and released. The driver from The Municipality of West Perth has been charged with careless driving.
