(QUINTE WEST, ON) – A charge has been laid following a two vehicle collision involving a police car on Friday afternoon. On Friday July 17, 2015, at approximately 3:20pm officers from the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Quinte West Detachment, Quinte West Fire Department and Hasting-Prince Edward EMS responded to a two vehicle collision at the intersection of Dundas St West and Dufferin Ave. The intersection is controlled by traffic lights. The collision involved a police vehicle and a civilian vehicle. The two persons in the civilian vehicle and the officer received minor injuries.
At the conclusion of the investigation, Constable Allan Detlor of the Quinte West Detachment has been charged under the Highway Traffic Act sec. 144(18) – Red Light-Fail to Stop.
