A 43 year old Barrie male is presently in police custody facing charges of imapired driving and over 80mgs. Late Saturday evening a motorist called 911 advising that a vehicle was driving on Anne St. N. with a completely shredded front tire. Officers attended the area and located the accused by following the shower of sparks flying from the accused’s vehicle. After a short investigation it was determined that the accused was drunk, he was arrested and taken to the police station where he provided samples of 180mgs and 160mgs. The accused will be released on a promise to appear.
Note: at the time of this press release the Barrie Police Service is still investigating three further impaired driving arrests.
