Novice Driver Facing Dangerous Driving Charge

(WALKERTON, ON) – On August 18, 2013 at 12:41 am, a South Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) officer on patrol along McNab Street in Walkerton signalled a Black Hyundai Sonata to stop with the cruiser emergency lights. The driver continued on through Walkerton until stopping along Jackson Street and running from the vehicle. The driver was caught near a Jackson Street residence following a short foot chase. A 17 year old male from the Municipality of Brockton has been charged with Dangerous operation and Flight from police. He will be appearing in court as required to answer to the charges. The accused can’t be identified due to provisions of the Youth Criminal Justice Act (YCJA).
