(NOTTAWASAGA, ON)- Over this past winter, the Nottawasaga Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) were seen on the motorized snow vehicle (MSV) trails conducting enforcement and ensuring the trails were safe for all riders.
From the period from January 1 to March 7, 2014, Nottawasaga Officers conducted 105 hours of patrol; stopping 1607 MSV’s for compliance checks. They issued a total of 25 MSV charges (such as validation tags and trail permit compliance) and 24 provincial offences notices for other infractions such as no insurance and speeding on the trails.
As always, Police conducted R.I.D.E checks on the trails, setting up forty R.I.D.E programs in total during the above noted timeframe.
Nottawasaga OPP and Provincial Constable Kneeshaw would like to thank the S.T.O.P Officers who work closely with the OPP every winter season. This is a great partnership with the common goal of ensuring the safety of all MSV riders on the trails.
Thanks for a safe sledding season!
