(NORTHUMBERLAND, ON) – The Northumberland detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) dealt with 180 incidents this past weekend, here are some examples:
Sept 30:
OPP assisted the Cobourg Police Service with traffic control at a candle light vigil that evening.
A business on County Rd 28 in Port Hope reported a suspicious man who had knocked on the door. Officers located the man and determined that he was in the area fishing and required the use of a phone.
Police arrested an intoxicated 24 yr old Campbellford man after he reportedly jumped on a car in the area of the 7th Line East in Trent Hills. A warrant existed for failing to attend court resulting in him being held for a bail hearing.
Alnwick-Haldimand Twp Fire Dep’t reported a grass fire that erupted at a large bush party in the area of Finley Rd. Police dispersed the crowd and ensured sober drivers were providing transportation.
Oct 1:
Report of a suspicious male in downtown Colborne at 3:45am walking between homes. He was described as in his 20’s, 511″
