North Huron Council Accuses OPP Of Dereliction Of Duty And Media Blackout – Wingham Police To Get New Rubber Stamped Contract

The OPP were slammed at last night’s council meeting as councillors accused the OPP of dereliction of duty for waiting numerous days to respond to emergencies, and a media blackout. Council refused to allow the Public the Right to ask the OPP any questions, and offered third party hearsay as fact in an attempt to discredit the OPP. Councillors continue to claim it takes many days for the OPP to show to emergencies.

It should be noted that in the 7-8 years of covering council meetings the Wingham police have never be subject to any scrutiny by council. It should also be noted that it has be documented repeatedly that the OPP have had to come to the rescue of Winghamites due to the Wingham Police being off the square mile and taking 6+hours to respond to an incident blocks away from the police station. Also the Wingham police refuse to issue press releases and name names, have refused to identify themselves, deleted body camera video, committed perjury, etc. etc.
