(NORFOLK COUNTY, ON) – The Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Norfolk County Detachment is urging all Norfolk County residents to contact police immediately to report a crime or to report suspicious activity.
The OPP has seen great results in apprehending individuals who have committed criminal offences as a direct result of residents contacting police to report suspicious activity. Members of the community who keep their eyes open to report anything suspicious can help catch criminals before they have a chance to commit a crime.
Reporting suspicious activity or individuals have resulted in arrests and property being recovered; however we need everyone to call in a timely fashion. Police have recently been made aware that members of the community have not been reporting crimes or calling regarding suspicious activity. If this activity had been reported, police would have been able to take the appropriate enforcement action and apprehend those responsible.
What normally looks suspicious often is, and we need to hear from our residents when they encounter anyone committing a crime or acting in a suspicious manner immediately.
If you see suspicious persons or vehicles, try to obtain as much detail as you can, write down the person(s) description, the type of vehicle they are driving and the licence plate number and last known direction of travel.
Then don’t delay, call the police and report it. 1 – 888 – 310 – 1122 will put you in contact with the nearest O.P.P.
