(TOWNSHIP OF ADJALA-TOSORONTIO) – At approximately 8:26am, on Monday, September 5, 2016, a member of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), was conducting traffic enforcement on County Road 50 in the Township of Adjala-Tosorontio.
While travelling southbound in the area of County Road 14, just south of the hamlet of Athlone, the officer observed a northbound vehicle travelling at a high rate of speed. The vehicle radar device was activated and measured the oncoming vehicle to be travelling at 170km/hr in a 80km/hr speed zone.
The vehicle was subsequently stopped and the driver identified as Navpreet SINGH, age 23, of Milton, Ontario. The driver was charged with Stunt Driving, her driving privileges suspended for 7 days, as well as the motor vehicle impounded for 7 days.
