(CALEDON, ON) – On August 7th, 2014 shortly before 2 am, a citizen contacted the Caledon Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) to report a single motor vehicle collision. The citizen reported that the driver of a white Chevrolet was travelling southbound on Highway 10 when it veered off the roadway and landed in the ditch facing southbound. The driver of the vehicle then exited and began walking southbound on Highway 10 towards Charleston Side Road. When officers attended the area, they were unable to locate the driver and out of concern for the driver’s safety, a K9 track was commenced.
At approximately 4 am, the track was successful and the male was located outside a residence on Charleston Side Road.
In conclusion, Jelani K. P. CALLENDER, 28, from Toronto was arrested and charged with Fail to Stop at Scene of Collision.
He is scheduled to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice in Orangeville on September 11, 2014 to answer to the charge.
