(Selwyn Twp., ON) On Thursday September 12, at approximately 2:30 p.m. officers from Peterborough County OPP , Selwyn Fire Department and Peterborough County Ambulance responded to a Motor Vehicle Collision on County Road 23 north of Curve Lake Road.
Upon attending the scene it was determined that a motorcyclist had been traveling south on County Road 23, when it struck a trailer being towed by a pickup truck which was making a turn into a private drive.
As a result of the collision a 41 year old male resident of Selwyn Township lost control of his motorcycle and fell to the roadway. He was taken by emergency medical services to Peterborough Regional Health Centre where he was pronounced dead, having succumbed to his injuries.
County Road 23 has been closed between Curve Lake Road and Deer Bay Road and officers from the Central Region Highway Safety Division Technical Traffic are continuing the investigation.
