Around 1:30 p.m. yesterday afternoon, police responded to a single motor vehicle collision on Gillard Street.
The driver was driving erratically in a parking lot when he lost control and struck a post. The driver fled the scene without reporting the collision.
Through investigation, police identified the driver. The Pontiac Sunfire sustained approximately $2000 damage. The driver was not injured.
A 24-year-old Wallaceburg man has been charged with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle and failing to report a collision. He was released pending a future court date.
The owner of the vehicle, a 47-year-old Dresden woman has been charged with permitting the use of a plate not authorized, contrary to the Highway Traffic Act.
