(ARMOUR TWP, ON) – On Monday January 2, 2017 the Almaguin Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) was patrolling the Village of Burk’s Falls when they observed the driver of a vehicle not wearing their seat belt.
The officer conducted a traffic stop and after a police investigation seized a small quantity of marihuana from the driver. Police arrested and charged the driver, Morgan BOSWORTH, 19 of Armour Township with the following offences:
• Fail to comply with probation order, contrary to section 733.d1(1) of the Criminal Code (CC)
• Driver – fail to properly wear seat belt, contrary to section 106(2) of the Highway Traffic Act (HTA)
• Novice Driver – blood alcohol content above zero, contrary to section 44.1(3) HTA
• Driving motor vehicle with open container of liquor, contrary to section 32(1) of the Liquor Licence Act (LLA).
The accused was released from police custody and is to appear at the Ontario Court of Justice on Thursday January 26, 2017 in Sundridge Ontario.
