(LEEDS, ON.) – Officers of the Leeds Detachment of the Ontario Provincial Police are continuing investigations into impaired drivers over the past week.
On the 5TH of September 2016 at about 1:15 AM O.P.P officers stopped a vehicle on Highway 401 in Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township for a Highway Traffic Act offence. As a result of further investigation Vinayagalingam ABEYALINGAM, 34 years old of Quebec, faces a charge of impaired driving. His court appearance is scheduled for the 7th of October 2016 in Brockville.
On the 7th of September 2016 at about 12:30 AM on Highway 401 in Leeds and the Thousand Islands Township officers stopped an Ottawa woman for a Highway Traffic Act offence. As a result of further investigation, Jennifer CADEAU, 27 years old face an impaired driving charge. She is scheduled to appear in Brockville court on the 4th of November 2016.

If you suspect that someone is driving or about to drive impaired, call 9-1-1 and report it. If you see that someone is impaired by alcohol or other drugs and intends on driving, strongly discourage them from driving and call 9-1-1 if they insist.
