More Impaired Drivers Arrested

(BRACEBRIDGE, ON) – Bracebridge Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) has taken three impaired drivers off the road over the weekend between June 24 and June 25, 2017.

On Saturday June 24, 2017 at 1:45 a.m. an officer was conducting general patrol in the town of Bracebridge and observed a vehicle fail to stop at a stop sign on Ontario Street in the town of Bracebridge. As a result of their investigation into the incident, police have charged 27 year-old Matthew FYFE of Bracebridge, ON with Impaired Driving CC 253(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 253(1)(b). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 25, 2017.

On Saturday June 24, 2017 at 8:45 p.m. police responded to an All-Terrain Vehicle collision on Shamrock Marina Road in Gravenhurst. Police arrived and began an investigation into the collision and ultimately arrested and charged 24 year-old Justin CHEW of Gravenhurst, ON with Impaired Driving CC 253(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 253(1)(b). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 18, 2017.

On Sunday June 25, 2017 just after 11:30 p.m. an officer conducting general patrol in the town of Gravenhurst stopped a man operating an e-bike on Harvie Street in Gravenhurst after noticing some troubling behaviour. The officer quickly realized the presence of alcohol as a contributing factor. Police arrested and charged 27 year-old Eric PAULLETTE of Gravenhurst, ON with Impaired Driving CC 253(1)(a) and Over 80 CC 253(1)(b). He will appear in the Ontario Court of Justice in Bracebridge on July 18, 2017.

In all cases, the accused parties received an immediate 90 day driver’s licence suspension and further had their vehicles towed and impounded.
