(HALIBURTON, ON) – On Saturday November 8, 2014 at approximately 6:03 pm, members of the Haliburton Highlands Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) detachment were called to assist in locating two missing hunters in the area of Pine Spring Road in the Township of Algonquin Highlands.
The hunters had become disoriented while tracking a deer into the bush. They managed to get cell phone service to phone 911 but were unable to keep contact as they did not have a fully charged battery. They had no extra equipment or supplies with them.
Officers attended the location and directed the hunters to walk towards the sound of the police sirens. Officers patrolled the immediate area and the hunters were later located at approximately 7:36pm in good health.
