(ROCKWOOD, ON) – On August 27, 2014 at approximately 11:00 a.m. members of the Wellington County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) received a call regarding property damage that occurred at the Rockwood Cemetery located on Main Street in Rockwood, Guelph-Eramosa Township.
Investigation revealed that sometime between August 26, 2014 at 4:00 p.m. and August 27, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. unknown suspect/s entered onto the cemetery property and damaged the following:
– Removed letters from the Rockwood Cemetery sign
– Smashed a stained glass window in the chapel as well as other decorative glass inside chapel
– Damaged the hydro meter
Wellington County OPP is asking for the public’s assistance in identifying the persons responsible for this crime. This investigation is still ongoing and anyone with information is asked to contact Provincial Constable Walizad at the South Wellington OPP Operation Centre at 1-888-310-1122.
