(LUCAN BIDDULPH, ON) – The Middlesex County Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) Auxiliary Unit held a food drive in October to collect food donations for those less fortunate.
Just prior to Thanksgiving, on October 9, 2014, members from the Middlesex County OPP Auxiliary Unit were at the Foodland Grocery store in Lucan, Ontario.
Through the generosity of the public, an entire ½ tonne full size cargo van was filled in just three hours. The groceries were subsequently donated to the Ailsa Craig Food Bank.
“Thank you to everyone for their support of events such as these, which raise awareness, bring community partners together, and assist those in need,†states Middlesex County OPP Detachment Commander, Acting Inspector Brad Thompson.
During the upcoming season of giving, the Middlesex County OPP Auxiliary Unit is planning two food drives, to be held in December.
