(TOWN OF NEW TECUMSETH) – At approximately 6:52 pm, on Tuesday, October 25, 2016, a member of the Nottawasaga Detachment, Ontario Provincial Police (OPP), Traffic Enforcement Unit, was monitoring traffic in the Community Safety Zone in Bond Head.
The officer clocked a silver Honda Civic travelling westbound on the 7th Line, through the Safety Zone at 116 km/hr, in a posted 50 km/hr area.
The driver of the motor vehicle, Michael MONGILLO, age 18, of the 7th Line of New Tecumseth, was charged with racing a motor vehicle. His vehicle was impounded and his driver’s licence suspended for a period of 7 days. Due to the fact this was a Community Zone, fines are increased substantially, upon conviction.
